The Matilda Centre, University of Sydney

Hi! We’re #TeamMatilda, otherwise known as the Matilda Centre. We are a Flagship Research Centre at The University of Sydney, conducting research into co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. We’re walking for WAGEC to raise money to support women and girls fleeing domestic violence. Research has shown strong connections between family, domestic and intimate partner violence and mental health and substance use conditions, such as disordered eating, post-traumatic stress and substance use disorders. While we’re working hard in our work weeks to find evidence-based methods to reduce and prevent mental ill-health and substance use disorders, we’re walking this May to raise money for important causes like WAGEC.
