Why I’m Walking
Tuesday 23rd AprI’m walking the Walk for WAGEC this year to prevent violence against women and girls. And am asking you to sponsor me/donate to my page as support of the 10 kilometre walk!
The Womens and Girls Emergency Service does incredible work in the Sydney region, supporting women in crisis, postvention and prevention.
Violence against women is a national crisis, as of this year 30 women have been killed by violence.
A life free from violence is a human right, but for women living in Australia it is a luxury.
I experienced both domestic and sexual violence before the age of 25. Services like WAGEC changed my life, and supported me through crisis and into healing and recovery.
I understand it’s a financially stressful time with the cost of living crisis so whatever you can spare is greatly appreciated and will support and empower girls and women in our community to love happy, healthy, joy-filled lives free from violence - as we should!
