Here’s everything you need to know to make Sunday 13th September a walk in the park!

7am Sunday 13th September 2026

Registration opens from 7am onwards. Formalities, including the Welcome to Country, opening speech and warm up begin at 8am.
 
We officially begin walking at 9am.

Centennial Park, Sydney

The Walk for WAGEC start line is at Church Grounds in Centennial Park, Sydney (near the Randwick Gates).

Don't worry - the sea of yellow tees will be hard to miss!  

Everybody is welcome

Walk for WAGEC is a safe, inclusive and family-friendly event.

People of all ages – and four-legged friends – are welcome.

WHAT TO EXPECT

W4W Registration

CHECK IN

When you first arrive, check-in at the Registration Hub by joining the shortest line.

You'll receive your Walk for WAGEC wristband and be ready to explore the food and information stalls.  
 
You can register on the day, however we recommend registering ahead of time to boost your fundraising and save you time!

INFO HUB

If you have any questions about the route, amenities or to report lost items or children, head to the Info Hub where our team will be able to help you out. 
 
St. John's Ambulance will also be located at Info Hub for any first aid needs.

We’ve got plenty of surprises in store for you on Walk Day! From a fabulous warm up to an exciting post-walk surprise, there’s plenty to look forward to. Stay tuned for more information!

Amenities 

There will be portaloos available (including an accessible bathroom with a change table) at the Church Grounds and public toilets are available all throughout Centennial Park.

For kids

We've got heaps to keep our littlest walkers entertained! For children's entertainment, including bubbles, face painting and colouring in, head over to the Kids Hub.

There will be plenty of WAGEC merch for sale on the day. You can also make a donation to directly support WAGEC's services here too. We cannot accept cash sales, however we can take cash donations.

Photos

Photographers and videographers will be around on the day to capture the magic of the walk. 

Please note: Images and videos captured on the day may be used in future promotional material about Walk for WAGEC. If you do not wish to be included in this material, please let one of our friendly photographers or staff members know.

GETTING READY

WET WEATHER

We walk rain, hail or shine! If the forecast looks wet, make sure you bring your umbrellas, ponchos and wet-weather proof shoes.
 
There is no strict dress code for the walk, however we would love to see you in your best yellow or purple outfit! Make sure you wear something you feel comfortable running or walking in. If the weather is wet, make sure you wear rain-proof, warm clothes! 

Parking and accessibility

We encourage you to take public transport where possible, however if you need to drive there is free parking available throughout Centennial Park.

We encourage people who use wheelchairs and people with prams to use the paved pathway throughout the course. Our staff can provide assistance on the day. If you have any accessibility needs, please get in touch with us via walk4wagec@wagec.org.au.

THE ROUTE

We've set out a route that you're going to love! Enjoy the gorgeous scenery around Sydney's Centennial Park as you walk 5km or run 10km.

REGISTRATION FEE

The earlier you register the better.

VIP Entry ($20 registration) is open from 22 June-10 July.

Early Bird Entry ($25 registration) is open from 11 July-14 August.

General Entry ($30) is open from 15 August-13 September.

We acknowledge that we are walking on stolen Aboriginal Land. If you identify as a First Nations person, you are not required to pay the registration fee. To have your fee waived, please reach out to us by clicking the button below.
