I'm walking to end violence against women and children.

I'm walking to call for an end to violence against women and children. Domestic violence is a national crisis that kills one woman every eleven days. I consider myself lucky I wasn't one when I easily could have been.

Leaving him was incredibly difficult, admitting that it was abuse and I was in a domestic violence situation was even harder. He never left a bruise or a scar on my skin but it was still abuse. I survived him screaming in my face, punching inanimate objects, leaving a hole in the door, calling me names, threatening suicide over something I had said or done, ignoring me for days, saying I didn't deserve him, claiming I didn't love him. It took me a long time to leave because despite all of his cruelty he could still be loving and kind.

I had my family and friends supporting me when I left. If it weren't for them I would have no where to go. Donations will go to help those who don't have the support I do.
