I'm walking to call for an end to violence against women and children.

Domestic violence is a national crisis that kills one woman every eleven days.

I'm taking on this challenge to demand action and raise funds for women and children impacted by domestic violence.

In 2023, I was just one of those numbers you see on the news of “3 out of 4 woman experience DV in their relationships”. I was pregnant with my first son and it was one of the most traumatic experiences in my life. When I was 8 months pregnant, i decided I need to leave. Not for myself but for the future of my unborn child. I didn’t want this to be his normal, I didn’t want him to watch his mom cry and be tortured by the man he would have to call his dad. I didn’t want him to learn that was what love was. So one night while I was locked in our closet being screamed at through the door and things being thrown around, I noticed for the first time I didn’t get my phone taken off me, I called my mom and cried to her to call the police. November 14th 2023. The last day I ever got choked, the last day I ever got hit, the last day I ever got things thrown at me, the last day I got spat in the face, and the last day my baby had to feel a knee hitting my stomach. July 2026 and we are still dealing with this man, stalked, harnessed, extended ADVO’s but we are safe. We are together and we are alive 🤍
