I'm walking to end violence against women and children.

I'm walking to call for an end to violence against women and children.

Domestic violence is a national crisis that kills one woman every eleven days.

I'm taking on this challenge to demand action and raise funds for women and children impacted by domestic violence.

Please make a donation and support my walk today.

Your support will ensure women and children can access safe accommodation and vital support services to help them heal from trauma and rebuild their lives.

Donate now to sponsor my walk and let’s stand together to show these women and children they are not alone.

My Impact

So far this year, I’ve helped provide:

2

nights of safe accommodation for a woman and child experiencing violence.

2

women with access to counselling services, helping them rebuild after trauma.

4

care packs incl. toiletries, PJs and essential items to help a mother fleeing violence.

Why I am Walking for WAGEC

Wednesday 15th Jul
Hi

My name is Izzy,

For too long I have seen the media articles about violence against innocent women and children. For too long I have heard stories of lives being cut short, whether she were young or old. For too long I have seen the statistics of femicide increase. It has been too long.

In the last 26 years, 291 women have been murdered by their current or former intimate male partner following a history of domestic violence. That is 291 women too many.

Violence against women and children is a problem with underlying societal causes.

In mid-July 2026 four women and girls were been killed in the span of four days by four different men. We will not forget the these girls. Jana. Lavanya. Layla. And an unnamed 17-year-old girl. Four lives that deserved to keep living, and they are just 4 out of 37 women and children who have been killed (at the time of writing this).

These women deserve safety from the perpetual fear of abusers. Which is why I am walking for WAGEC (Women's and Girls' Emergency Centre) this year. I am also trying to raise money to support this incredible organisation further. Every cent counts.

I encourage you to join me in supporting WAGEC. Donate or join the walk or run in September. Share statistics and spread awareness of why this matter is important. We can work together to make a change and support the women and girls who need it.

Thank you,
Izzy <3
