I'm walking to call for an end to violence against women and children.

Domestic violence is a national crisis that kills one woman every eleven days.

I'm taking on this challenge to demand action and raise funds for women and children impacted by domestic violence.

Why I’m walking to end violence

Friday 24th Jul
As a survivor of domestic and family violence, I’m incredibly proud to be walking alongside my daughters in the Walk for WAGEC on 13 September to help raise vital funds for women and children escaping violence.

I’m walking because I want to be part of a future where violence against women and children is no longer accepted or tolerated. I’m walking because every woman deserves to feel safe, and every child deserves to grow up free from fear.

As a mother, it breaks my heart to know that the greatest risk of violence to my daughters is not from a stranger, but from someone they may one day know, love or trust. That statistic is confronting, and it’s one we cannot ignore.

I want a world where my daughters never experience domestic and family violence. I want that for every daughter, every son, every family.

Every night, Women's & Girls'​ Emergency Centre (WAGEC)  supports around 200 women and children escaping violence by providing safe accommodation, essential items, and the support needed to heal and rebuild their lives. Every dollar raised helps make that possible.
