Walking for women, safety and stronger support

I’m taking part in the Walk for WAGEC to raise funds and stand alongside women and children affected by domestic and family violence.

What happens after violence matters. A kind welcome, safe accommodation, advocacy, specialist support and compassionate services can make an enormous difference as women and children recover, rebuild and regain a sense of safety. Ending violence against women and children requires practical support, sustained action and communities that know how to respond. WAGEC helps deliver that.

WAGEC provides this vital support to women and families across Sydney, while also contributing to the broader social change needed to prevent violence in the first place.

My first fundraising goal is $510. That will enable six women to access counselling after trauma.

If you’d normally shout me a coffee ($6.50 in this economy), a glass of wine ($15 for the drinkable stuff), or even dinner (fancy!), consider sending it WAGEC’s way instead. And if you’ve never shouted me any of the above, consider this an excellent opportunity to make amends!

Existing is expensive, so if donating isn’t possible for you right now, sharing this page or helping more people learn about WAGEC’s work is also genuinely valuable.

My Impact

So far this year, I’ve helped provide:

2

nights of safe accommodation for a woman and child experiencing violence.

2

women with access to counselling services, helping them rebuild after trauma.

4

care packs incl. toiletries, PJs and essential items to help a mother fleeing violence.
